Jeep India opens bookings for the Grand Cherokee! Local assembly also begins this month
Jeep India have garnered success with the Compass and have finally opened bookings for their luxury model the Grand Cherokee as it also starts local assembly in India.
Jeep India has opened pre-bookings for their luxury SUV the Grand Cherokee and also started pre-bookings for the same. The car is supposed to launch on November 17 (Thursday) as deliveries are expected to begin from the end of this month. Jeep has also started locally assembling the Grand Cherokee at its Ranjangaon facility. This makes the Cherokee, Jeep’s fourth model to be assembled at this facility.
The new Grand Cherokee is available in two versions for the international market, but India will get only the standard five-seat version and miss out on the larger three-row Grand Cherokee L. The SUV comes loaded with features like a 10.1-inch infotainment and a 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster. It even gets a 10.25-inch touchscreen for the front passenger additionally along with newer ADAS tech like adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning and emergency braking for pedestrians. A panoramic sunroof is also on offer. The Grand Cherokee was offered in two engine options for the last generation but this new gen will only be offered with a 2.0L turbo-charged petrol engine. Expected to be price in between the ₹80-88 lakh mark, the Grand Cherokee sets its sights on the BMW X5, Audi Q7 and the Mercedes GLE which although are superb nd plush luxury SUVs, they simply don’t match the off-road abilities of the Grand Cherokee.
