It’s officially here folks. The dark themed Jeep Compass Night Eagle makes its debut in India with the entry level starting at Rs. 20.14 Lakh. The timing not only coincides with the Compass’ 3rd anniversary in India, but also with the various shadow/dark themed releases from other big names. These dark editions not only look amazing, but are quickly becoming the new hype in the auto world. The Night Eagle edition is based on the Jeep Compass longitude plus variant.
What does the Night Eagle offer?
In the Night Eagle edition, the dark theme is evident both inside and out.The interior’s leather upholstery and dashboard both have dark accents. Externally, the Compass gets black inserts in the grille and all-black 18 inch alloy wheels. Basically the whole car is engulfed in shadows and topped off with a black Jeep badge.
Jeep is offering 3 different powertrains for the Night Eagle:
- 1.4- litre turbo petrol with 7-speed DCT(163 hp) – Rs. 20.14 Lakh
- 2.0- litre diesel with 6-speed Manual transmission (173 hp)- Rs. 20.75 Lakh
- 2.0-litre diesel, 9-speed torque-converter automatic with AWD(173 hp) – Rs. 23.31 Lakh
Other features include 8.4-inch touchscreen with Android and Apple connectivity, Dual-zone climate control, Engine start/stop button, ABS, dual front airbags and Xenon projector headlamps. So in terms of being well equipped, Jeep has you covered.
In other news, the Compass is most likely to get a big update sometime next year. Jeep also has a 7-seater in the makes expected after the Compass update. Jeep is starting to make big moves to firmly plant its foothold here in India.
