After a long wait for Indian SUV lovers, the prices for the 2020 Mahindra Thar have been revealed. The SUV with quite a cult following in India was initially revealed in August 2020, followed by just about all the features and details of the car.
The prices for the Mahindra Thar AX variants start at ₹9.8 lakh, going up to ₹12.2 lakh, all prices ex-showroom. Thar “luxury-focused” (if there can be such thing as a luxury-focused Thar) LX variant prices start from ₹12.49 lakh for the hard-top convertible petrol and go up to ₹12.95 lakh for the diesel.
The 2020 Mahindra Thar will be powered by a 2.2litre Diesel and a 2Litre Petrol engine, churning out 120hp and 150hp of power respectively. The BSVI compliant powertrains will be mated to a six-speed manual or automatic transmissions.
You can get the new Thar with a hardtop, a soft top, or a first-in-class convertible top. If that’s not enough customizability for you, you can also choose whether you want 4 front-facing seats, or 2 front-facing plus 4 side-facing seats.
The deliveries of the 2020 Mahindra Thar are expected to begin by the end of October.
