Tata Punch gets a 5-star rating at the GNCAP tests
It's a proud day for the carmaker, and will help further strengthen the public's trust in the company!
Tata has hit a masterstroke safety-wise. The Punch, like the Altroz has been awarded a 5-star rating by GNCAP! The car’s base model was tested, and it came back with 5/5 for the front occupants and a 4/5 for the rear seat occupants. Here’s a video of the test.
Tata has gone down the route of prioritising safety, and it shows. The car achieved a score of 16.45/17 for the front occupants, and 40.89/49 for the rear occupants. This is one of the highest scores ever achieved by an Indian carmaker at the NCAP tests, quite a mean feat!
All this can be achieved only thanks to Tata including features like ABS, EBD, dual airbags, brake sway control, etc as standard on the car. This the latest in a long line of cars which have proven Tata’s safety record, with the others being the Tiago, Tigor, Nexon and the Altroz, all of which have given Tata great scores safety-wise.
Moving on from this, Tata should ensure that they maintain this safety record, especially considering as GNCAP aims at bumping up testing procedures from next year onwards. Nonetheless, this is a remarkable achievement by Tata, let’s hope for even better things going forward!
